jazzjam
It’s been heads down and tails up in preparation for JazzJam! - the eagerly awaited first event in our Concert Series for 2008. Of course we spent a hectic weekend up at Camp Crescendo where we exercised our vocal cords, our muscles and our brains! So the time is fast approaching for you to join all of our QYC ensembles accompanied by a mighty Big Band sound as they jam their way through the era of jazz, a toe-tappin' afternoon of razzmatazz performed by fine young singers with exceptional pizzazz.
JazzJam is on Sunday, 20 May 2007 at
3:00pm Adults: $20 Tickets will be on sale from Saturday, 26 April through the QYC office. Last year's May concert was a sell-out, so make sure you don't miss this year's great event. annual general meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Queensland Youth Choir Inc. was held on Saturday, 15 March 2008. Memebrs of the management committee elected at the meeting are: The first Management Committee meeting with the new committee has taken place and we can confirm that it is going to be a very busy and productive year here at QYC! If you have any information, suggestions or comments you would like to have passed on to the committee or raised at a committee meeting, please send to admin@qldyouthchoir.com.au prior to the last Thursday of each month. A big thank-you to all those parents who put their hand up for being involved in the committee this year. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for everyone – but there will still be plenty of opportunities to become involved and we are truly thankful to have so many willing helping-hands. |

We’d love some new ones! QYC is thinking of ways that we can raise the $20,000 required to outfit all of our ensembles. There has been talk of a Trivia Night (based upon the roaring success of the Spicks’n’Specks trivia night held at Camp Crescendo) as well as chocolate drives and raffles. So we're asking our members and friend to put on your thinking capss – do you know of anyone (business or community) who may be looking for a sponsorship opportunity with QYC, or who just may wish to make a donation? All donations to QYC are fully tax-deductible. Every little bit helps and it’s for a fantastic cause. Even encouraging everyone you know to buy tickets to our Concert Series for 2008 will go a long way. |
