Training & performanceInternational TouringStudio recording with Jason Barry-Smith

Queensland Youth Choir offers:

  • Four performance ensembles – Poco Voci, StellaVoce, Vivace Voices and VoiceWorks – catering for singers from the Prep. to age 25
  • A music education program – Bambino Music – for young children up to 5 years of age
  • An SATB community choir - Vox Populus - for singers 26 and above
  • Seamless transition from one ensemble to the next, based on school year level / age and ability
  • An audition process conducted in a friendly and supportive way, which is intended to recognise developed talent as well as the potential to learn and grow musically
  • Weekly rehearsals of 1.5 to 2.5 hours and 30 minutes for Bambino Music
  • An annual three-day training camp (except for Poco Voci and Bambino Music)
  • Three public concerts each year in which all choir members participate
  • The opportunity to perform at a variety of sporting, cultural, community entertainment, charity and corporate events
  • Carefully selected, quality repertoire that incorporates a wide variety of musical styles including popular, contemporary, rock, jazz, gospel, classical, art music, world music, Broadway and Australiana
  • Training in singing, choreography, music literacy and stage presentation
  • Professionally qualified, experienced musical directors, choreographers, tutors and accompanists
  • Recording and touring opportunities (both Australian and international) for all members from StellaVoce onwards
