Wedding Hire
The Queensland Youth Choir is available to provide a unique choral highlight for your wedding or that of a loved one. Several different options are available to ensure that the event is a musical success.
To assist with your planning, QYC provides the following options for your consideration.
Ensembles
The Queensland Youth Choir can provide any size vocal ensemble to meet your wedding needs. Some options include:
- Octet (8 voices)
- Small ensemble (16 to 20)
- Choir (25 to 40)
In addition, you can choose to have a children’s ensemble (members of StellaVoce), a secondary school group (members of Vivace Voices) or an ensemble of young adults (members of VoiceWorks).
Accompaniment
QYC offers the following accompaniment options:
- a cappella – choral music with no instrumental accompaniment
- with piano – QYC has a number of professional pianists available
- with organ – QYC can arrange an organist or will work with the official
wedding/church organist
- with other instruments – QYC can work with other instrumentalists and
will provide advice on securing the services of professional instrumentalists if required.
Fee Guidelines
The fee charged depends on the size of the ensemble selected and the amount of music performed at the wedding. Instrumentalists (other than QYC’s own accompanist) have their own rates in addition to the charge for the ensemble. Selections that are outside of the standard repertoire, or that require special musical arrangements, will incur an extra fee.
Prices for ceremonies within the Greater Brisbane area generally range from approximately $350 for an octet to $1100 for a large ensemble. For Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay island venues, additional charges will apply to cover travelling time and costs.
