Bambino Music

The program

Early childhood music classes provide a wide range of music experiences for young children from birth to age five. The classes are voice-based with the children interacting with their parents/care-givers in a safe and non-threatening environment. There is no requirement for either the adult or the child to have any previous experience, as everyone learns as the classes go along. The voice-based activities, along with listening and movement activities, help to develop many skills including speech acquisition, fine and gross motor skills and the development of an intrinsic sense of beat, pitch and rhythm. And all this happens while having fun!

Classes operate at an age-appropriate level and there are no more than ten children in a group. Each group lesson runs for 30 minutes.

In 2008, classes are available on both Tuesday and Thursday mornings. QYC also conducts a multi-age family class for those who have more than one child close in age and who do not wish to have them in separate classes.

Staff

The program is developed and delivered by Debbie Wilson, a fully qualified classroom music teacher with a special interest in the early childhood area.

Fees

At only $9.00 (including GST) per week for a thirty minute session, Bambino Music represents exceptionally good value for money. Fees are payable on a term basis, with each term consisting of eight weeks of lessons commencing in the second week of each State school term.

Admission

There are no audition requirements for Bambino Music and you can join the program at any time. For further information, please contact the Queensland Youth Choir on 3257 4905.  An application form may be downloaded, completed and taken to your first class, which is free.
